Houston’s Story

Houston Playing the Delta Fair 2024

Houston was born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee. His music career started off like many other Country Music Artists, by singing in Church and listening to the radio with his dad, Fred, while riding around town. Fred would always turn up the “Alabama’s Greatest Hits CD” and everyone in the car would sing their hearts out to hits such as “Song of the South,” “Mountain Music,” and “Tennessee River.” Houston’s love for music was only spurred on as a young man further, due to his upbringing around many musical influences. Houston states, “Growing up in Memphis and growing to love country music has been a unique journey, which really impacted my style. My performance style as a sort of mix between Broadway and Beale. Influences from the Blues and Motown movements from Memphis, and the entire country scene from Nashville has shaped me as a performer.”

Houston’s musical career began as a young boy, playing the piano and singing in the Church. He never had a true taste of performing commercial music until High School. He recounts coming home from his first show with his High School’s House Band, and knowing that he would be hooked on music the rest of his life. Houston has played countless shows and had opportunities to take his talent overseas for a brief period of time to do a Mini-Tour with the same House Band that got him started in the entertainment industry.

Houston is a published songwriter and performer on all major streaming platforms. He enjoys writing music and the creative process of creating something from scratch with musicians that he is thankful to call his friends. Houston’s first single, “He’s Still There” was released in February of 2023, while he was a Senior in High School. This song remains his largest hit to date.

Houston wants to give all the glory and honor to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for the ability to perform music, and the ability to connect with people through music. He is beyond thankful for his friends and family that support him to create music and follow his passion.
